Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 6200 Scott Street

March 6, 2020 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal crash following a police pursuit that ended at 6200 Scott Street about 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday (March 3).

The driver, Nathan Lee Christian (b/m, 17), is charged with murder, four counts of aggravated assault with bodily injury, endangering a child, evading arrest and unauthorized use of a vehicle in the 248th State District Court.  A booking photo of Christian is not available at this time. 

The victim, Christopher Washington, 16, was pronounced dead at Memorial Herman Hospital.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer R. Singleton reported: 

Southeast patrol officers were pursuing a white Honda Accord that had been reported stolen northbound on Scott Street when the driver (Christian) struck a white Nissan Sentra traveling eastbound on Zephyr Street.  The Nissan rolled over and both the driver and passenger were transported to area hospitals in critical condition.  Christian and a back seat passenger were both transported to Texas Children's Hospital with a broken bones.  Washington, who was a front seat passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where, on Wednesday (March 4), he was pronounced dead.  

The investigation is continuing.
