May 18, 2020 - The shooting of a woman at 12810 Jutland Road about 12:15 a.m. today (May 18) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.  

The victim, Shapri Morris, 33, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  

The male shooter was not injured in the incident.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Ferrell and J. Dodson reported:  

Morris went to the residence of her ex-companion at the above address and was caught vandalizing vehicles in the driveway.  She was confronted and asked to leave before she assaulted another person of the residence, who was armed.  During a struggle, the weapon discharged and Morris was struck in the chest.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported her to the hospital.  

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
