Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6425 South Gessner Road

November 30, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and woman at 6425 South Gessner Road about 4:15 p.m. last Wednesday (November 25).

The suspect, Leonardo Llanes (w/m, 47) is charge with capital murder in the 232nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Llanes is attached to this news release.

The identities of the female, 27, and male, 32, victims are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Dunn and Detective R. Waterwall reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in-progress call at an apartment complex at the above address.  Upon arrival, they found the male victim deceased in the parking lot and the female victim deceased in an apartment.  Both suffered gunshot wounds.

The suspect, Llanes, had remained at the scene and immediately surrendered to patrol officers.  Investigators interviewed Llanes and he confessed to his role in the deaths of both people.
