Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 245 El Dorado Boulevard

October 1, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 245 El Dorado Boulevard about 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday (September 30).  

The suspect, Kendrick Bluitt (b/m, 21). is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court.  A booking photo of Bluitt is attached to this news release.  

The identity of the victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Arrington and L. Osborn reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting in a gas station parking lot at the above address and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.  

A preliminary investigation and scene evidence indicated the suspect entered the back seat of a silver sedan.  Shortly after, the victim ran out and away from the vehicle as shots were being fired in the vehicle.  The victim was struck by the gunfire.  The suspect vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction.  

Further investigation developed information on the location of the vehicle.  Officers went to the location and spoke with persons in the vehicle.  Bluitt was identified as the suspect in this case and he was subsequently arrested and charged for his role in the shooting.
