Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7313 Northline Drive

October 5, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7313 Northline Drive about 5:55 p.m. last Thursday (Oct. 1).

The suspect, Marcus Lee (b/m, 39), is charged with capital murder in the 262nd State District Court for his role in the killing of Sixto Garcia, 48.  A booking photo of Lee is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Naughton and L. Patterson reported:

Mr. Garcia drove to the apartment complex parking lot at the above address with the intention to purchase narcotics.  He pulled his vehicle next to a male (Lee) and handed him cash for the drugs.  Lee accepted the money, but did not provide Garcia the drugs.  Lee began to walk away with the money and Garcia pulled his vehicle next to Lee to ask for his money back.  At that time, Lee pulled a gun, shot Garcia several times and then left the scene on foot.  Paramedics pronounced Garcia deceased at the scene.

Patrol officers were able to locate and detain Lee at a nearby motel.  He was arrested and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
