Investigation into Fatal Shooting of Man Found at 6600 Briargate Drive

September 10, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 6600 Briargate Drive about 11:50 p.m on Wednesday (Sept. 9).

The identity of the victim, 39, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Detectives N. Sharp and M. Perez reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call and found a man lying in the street at the above address with a gunshot wound to his chest.  Evidence at the scene indicated the victim was shot while on the sidewalk on Chimney Rock Road and walked around the corner to Briargate Drive where he collapsed in the street.  Paramedics transported the man to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

There is no known suspect or motive in the shooting at this time.
