April 1, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1400 South Voss Road about 12:55 a.m. today.

The identity of the female victim, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer V. Nguyen reported:

A witness stated a red Toyota Corolla was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on South Voss Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed over into the southbound lanes and struck a traffic signal light pole. 

The driver (victim) was the only occupant inside the vehicle.  Paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
