Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5207 Myrtlewood Street

April 23, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 5207 Myrtlewood Street about 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday (April 21).

The identity of the victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives P. Pak and A. Henderson reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address.  Upon arrival, they found the victim in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound.  She was subsequently pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics.

Investigators learned the shooting occurred as the result of an argument between a separate passenger and a male who lives near the above address.  The male fled the scene following the shooting.

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
