August 17, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman and the apparent suicide of a man at 9551 Fannin Street about 2:45 p.m. on Sunday (August 15).

The identities of the female victim, 78, and the male suspect, 80, are pending verification from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Palma and B. Stephens reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at an assisted living/rehabilitation facility at the above address.  There, they found both individuals deceased from gunshot wounds.  Further investigation determined the male suspect visited his wife (victim) at the facility.  After several hours, staff members heard two gunshots and went to check on the couple.  The woman was found deceased in her wheelchair and her husband (suspect) was found deceased on the floor next to her.  

A pistol the husband had apparently brought to the facility was found next to him.  At this time, it appears he shot his wife before shooting himself.
