HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers G. Black and V. Garcia reported:

Officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of a bar at the above address and were advised that Mr. Juan Montano had been transported via a private vehicle to the hospital.

Officers learned a fight started between suspect Montano and a male.  When suspect Montano went to the restroom, his brother, Juan Montano, began fighting with the male.  When the fighting males were kicked out of the business, Omar Montano began shooting at the male.  Witnesses held suspect Montano down and struggled with him for the gun.  Montano's brother (Juan) attempted to assist him, but one of the males struggling for the gun got the gun away and shot Juan Montano in the abdomen.  Both suspect Montano and Juan Montano fled the scene and Juan Montano was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.

At this time, investigators have not identified the individual who shot Juan Montano.

Suspect Omar Montano remains at large.  Anyone with information on his whereabouts or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
