Suspect Arrested, Charged in Stabbing at 6200 Marinette Drive

December 1, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a woman and assault of a man at 6200 Marinette Drive about 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 30).

The suspect, Wilmer Alberto Gonzalez (H/m, 31), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault of a family member in the 248th State District Court.  A booking photo of Gonzalez is attached to this news release.

The female victim, Noemi Orellana Trejo, 36, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  The male victim, 30, escaped injury as the suspect swung a knife in his direction and attempted to stab him.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Sergeant C. Bartlett and Officer J. Montalvo reported:

Officers were dispatched to an assault call at an apartment complex at the above address and learned a female (Ms. Orellano Trejo) had been stabbed and transported to the hospital.  Investigators were advised the suspect (Gonzalez) and the woman are married, but separated.  Gonzalez went to his estranged wife's apartment to see his children and got upset when he was told he could not see them.  At that time, Gonzalez pulled out a butcher knife and stabbed Orellana Trejo multiple times.

The male victim intervened and pushed Gonzalez off of Orellana Trejo.  Gonzalez then directed his attention to the male and swung the knife in his direction, attempting to stab him.  Gonzalez started to run from the scene.  The male ran after Gonzalez until he caught up to him at a nearby shopping center.  Officers arrived and detained the suspect without incident.  Gonzalez was interviewed by investigators and admitted to his role in the incident.
