Investigation into Shooting Incident at 5959 Westheimer Road

February 8, 2021 - Houston police are investigating an officer-involved shooting incident with no known injuries to burglary suspects at 5959 Westheimer Road about 4:25 p.m. last Friday (Feb. 5).

The officer who discharged his weapon, K. Walker, was not injured.  Officer Walker is assigned to the South Central Patrol Division and was sworn in as an officer in May 2017.

HPD Special Investigations Unit Sergeant M. Burroughs and Officers M. Millington, J. Hartnett, S. Martinez and J. Young reported:

An off-duty officer in plain clothes was at an office building at the above address.  When he returned to his parked personal vehicle, he encountered suspects burglarizing his car.  The suspects threatened the officer with a gun.  Fearing for his life, the officer discharged his weapon more than one time at the suspects.  It is believed none of the suspects was struck by the gunfire.  The males then fled the scene in their vehicle.
