Investigation into Shooting at 10200 East Freeway

February 10, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male at 10200 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) that occurred about 11 p.m. Monday (February 8).

The victim, Gerardo Fernandez, 36, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers L. Kauffman and C. Bowling reported:

Mr. Fernandez was driving his vehicle on the East Freeway when he spoke to a person on the phone and stated he was the victim of an aggressive driver.  He was later discovered in his vehicle, which became disabled on the main lanes of the freeway.  He had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Fernandez to the hospital.    

At this time, there is no known suspect(s).
