Traffic Incident at 12700 Greens Bayou

January 23, 2006 -- The cause of a fatal traffic accident that occurred at 12700 Greens Bayou on Sunday, January 22, 2006 at about 11:56 p.m. is being investigated by the Houston police.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Officer S.E. Bolton reported that evidence at the scene indicated that a late-model Dodge pick-up truck, westbound on Greens Bayou from Normandy was traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle hit a curve, left the roadway and struck a tree. There are no known witnesses to the accident.

The road in the area has twists and turns and it appears the driver of the truck, James Anthony Francis of 15118 Mountain Height, failed to maintain control of his vehicle in one of those turns and died from injuries sustained in the accident. The Harris County Medical Examiners' Office will conduct toxicology tests to determine if alcohol played a role in the accident.
