Investigation into Shooting of Man Found at 12602 East Freeway

January 5, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man found at 12602 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 12:45 a.m. today (Jan. 5).

The victim, Antwan Booker, 19, was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening wounds.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers G. Ferrell and A. Hernandez reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a park at the above address and learned Mr. Booker was at a nearby location in the Clinton Park Tri-Community area to purchase narcotics.  At some point, Booker got out of his vehicle and was approached by an unknown black male suspect who said something to him.  Booker stated he did not realize the male was talking to him when the male began shooting at Booker.  The male fled the scene.  Booker sustained several gunshot wounds and was driven to the park where police were called.
