Suspect Arrested, Charged in Assault at 3937 Arlington Square

January 15, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the assault of a man at 3937 Arlington Square Drive about 6 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 14).

The suspect, Akeira Saiah Forbes (b/f, 30), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 184th State District Court.  A booking photo of Forbes is attached to this news release.

The victim, Brandon Forbes, 36, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Ramirez reported:

Witnesses observed Mr. Forbes running - with no shirt on, and several cuts on his body - through an apartment complex at the above address.  A witness stopped, helped Forbes into his vehicle, called for police and then transported Forbes to an area hospital.  Officers met with Forbes at the hospital where he stated that his wife (Akeira Forbes) had cut him several times with a box cutter.  He sustained several cuts to his arm, abdomen, upper leg and his right shin.

Forbes' wife later came to the hospital on her own, provided a statement to officers and was subsequently taken into custody.
