Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8500 Williamsdell Street

July 8, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 8500 Williamsdell Street that occurred about 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday (July 7).

The identity of the victim, 31, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer N. Luu reported:

The victim was operating a blue Apollo dirt bike westbound on Williamsdell Street when he ran the stop sign at the intersection of Marjorie Street and struck a white Nissan Sentra.  The victim was ejected from the dirt bike.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

A preliminary investigation indicated the Nissan had the right-of-way.  The driver of the Nissan, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be intoxicated and was questioned and released.  

The investigation is continuing.
