Investigation into Shooting at 1302 Eastex Freeway

July 26, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 1302 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday (July 25).

The victim, Terrance Lane, 28, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives J. Cimeni and D. Crandall reported:

Investigators learned the suspect arrived at a convenience store and was approached by Mr. Lane in the parking lot.  Smith struck the suspect one time with his head and then punched the suspect in the face.  The suspect then produced a handgun and fired multiple shots at Smith, striking him in the chest, arm and abdomen.  

The suspect, described only as a slim black male wearing a red sweatband on his head, a red T-shirt, blue jeans, and white and red shoes, fled the scene.
