June 23, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 8405 Wilcrest Drive about 1 a.m. today. 

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective S. Overstreet reported:  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division officers responded to the above address regarding what was initially believed to be a fatal vehicle crash.  However, a preliminary investigation determined the victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound to his left side.  

A witness reported hearing a gunshot and then hearing a vehicle speeding down the street and crashing into a parked car and carport.  

At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s).
