Investigation into Stabbing at 8520 Hammerly Boulevard

March 8, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the stabbing of a man at 8520 Hammerly Boulevard about 8 p.m. on Saturday (March 6).

The victim, 40, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective D. Polite reported:

An intoxicated male (suspect), believed to be homeless, was refused entry to a local bar at the above address.  He then targeted the victim, who was sitting on the outdoor patio.  The suspect used a pocket knife to cut the victim and then walked away.  There is no known relationship between the two men.

Detectives were provided the possible identity of the suspect, 29, and are following leads in the case at this time.
