Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 12360 Richmond Avenue

March 22, 2021 - The fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another man and a juvenile male at 12360 Richmond Avenue that occurred about 11:30 p.m. last Friday (March 19) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male, 25, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

One male, 33, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital in stable condition.  A juvenile male, 11, suffered a gunshot wound to the hand and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  Another man, 29, was assaulted and transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective L. Lovelace reported:

The victim and his girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation at their apartment at the above address when friends and family members of both the victim and the girlfriend arrived at the address to intervene.  One of the girlfriend's male family members was then assaulted by the victim.  A second family member, fearing for his family members' safety, discharged his firearm at the victim.  

Friends of the victim who witnessed the shooting then discharged their firearms at the girlfriend's family members, striking one male.  The juvenile was also struck by the gunfire.
