Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10000 Westpark Drive

November 02, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 10000 Westpark Drive about 8:20 p.m. on Monday (November 1).

The identity of the deceased male, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer J. Roberson reported:

Investigators learned the victim stole beer from a nearby convenience store and then fled the location on foot.  As he attempted to cross the southbound lanes of the roadway at the above address, he was struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.  The victim landed in a grassy area near a bus stop and was discovered by officers responding to the report of the theft at the convenience store.  Officers attempted first aid on the male before paramedics arrived.  The male was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The vehicle that struck the victim did not stop and is described only as a light-colored SUV or van driving eastbound on Westpark Drive toward South Gessner Road.
