Investigation into Shooting at 5300 Renwick Drive

October 8, 2021 - Houston police are investigating an incident in which a robbery suspect(s) fired shots at HPD officers at 5300 Renwick Drive about 7 p.m. on Thursday (October 7).  

The HPD officers, who did not discharge their duty weapons, were not injured in the incident.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives L. Thornton and J. Kimbrough reported:  

An HPD officer was working an approved extra job at a business at 6222 Richmond Avenue when he observed a robbery.  The officer flagged down another patrol officer, who then got into a vehicle pursuit with the suspects.  During the pursuit, the suspect(s) fired at the officers, who were not struck by the gunfire.  The suspects then abandoned their vehicle on the side of the street and fled the scene on foot.  

The unidentified suspects remain at large.
