Incident at 1816 West Little York

November 29, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating an aggravated assault on a police officer at 1816 West Little York on November 28, 2005 about 10:25 a.m.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. J. McCorvey and D.L. Robertson reported:

Officer P.M. Slater, a 13-year veteran assigned to the North Patrol Division, responded to a suspicious vehicle call. Officer Slater observed a tan Ford Expedition parked in front of a vacant residence. The vehicle was backed underneath a metal carport with one person inside the truck.

While attempting to approach the vehicle, Officer Slater observed the suspect in the vehicle raise an automatic weapon. At that time, fearing for her safety, Officer Slater discharged her service weapon twice at the armed suspect. The suspect fled the location in the truck. After a vehicle and foot pursuit, officers arrested the juvenile suspect and recovered the automatic weapon from him.

Investigation into Fatal Stabbing at 7402 Calhoun Road

October 18, 2021 - The fatal stabbing of a woman at 7402 Calhoun Road about 2:20 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 17) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased female, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Ferrell and A. Hernandez reported:

Officers were dispatched to a stabbing call at a residence at the above address and found a woman in a back bedroom with a puncture wound to her right leg.  Paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Another female, 25, at the residence told detectives she accidentally stabbed the woman when she entered the bedroom.

After consultation with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, it was determined the incident would be referred to a grand jury.
