June 10, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 12700 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 1:15 a.m. today.

The identity of the male victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer T. Smith reported:

The driver of a blue Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound at the above address went off the roadway and struck a tree in the grassy median. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. Paramedics transported a female passenger to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
