Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 5663 Belmark Street

May 10, 2022 - Houston police are searching for a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man found at 5663 Belmark Street about 12:25 a.m. on December 26, 2021.  

The suspect, Alexis Zarco, 30, is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court.  A 2020 booking photo of Zarco is attached to this news release.  He is not in custody. 

Zarco is accused in the death of Manuel Garcia, 33.    

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Ferrell and J. Campbell reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Garcia lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to the lower torso.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

A witness stated a suspect, driving a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee, was traveling eastbound on Belmark and stopped to speak to Garcia, who was on foot.  A verbal altercation ensued and the suspect pulled out a firearm and shot Garcia multiple times from inside the vehicle.  The suspect then fled the scene.  

Further investigation identified Zarco as a suspect in this case and he was charged for his role in the shooting.
