Investigation into Woman's Death at 5201 South Willow Drive

November 3, 2022 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman at 5021 South Willow Drive about 3:15 p.m. on October 31.  

The identity of the female, 93, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cass reported:

On Wednesday (November 2), HPD homicide detectives were notified of the death of a female that occurred at a nursing home facility at the above address.  A preliminary investigation indicated the female was in the custody of the nursing home following an elderly abuse/physical neglect case filed by Adult Protective Services. 

On September 16, Adult Protective Services filed an emergency order, at which time the female was removed from the family home and placed in the nursing home facility.  It is believed the female's death was a result of prolonged neglect elder abuse from family members.  

The investigation is pending the female's cause of death, to be determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
