Traffic Incident at 12700 Fondren

January 17, 2007 -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in a fatal traffic accident in the 12700 block of Fondren about 6 p.m. on Monday (January 15).

The suspect, Krystal Nicole Reese (b/f, DOB 6-9-84), is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the 183rd State District Court. She is accused in the death of Lupe Peralez Monreal, 45, of 2207 Jupiter in San Antonio. Ms. Monreal was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant A.C. Francois and Officers J. Larson and C.D. Jack reported:

The suspect was traveling in her black Lexus northbound on Fondren as she approached the intersection at Fonmeadow. She had a green light and continued through the intersection when Ms. Monreal darted out from the front of another car. The suspect could not stop in time and struck Ms. Monreal. The suspect stopped, got out of her car, and found Ms. Monreal unconscious and not moving. The suspect got back into her car and left the scene, but was detained by several witnesses at Fondren at West Airport, where officers arrived and placed the suspect into custody.

Investigation into Man's Death at 1777 Walker Street

September 28, 2022 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 1777 Walker Street about 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday (September 27).

The identity of the male, 60, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Detective D. Stark reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call in a room at a hotel at the above address and found the male in a bathroom.  He appeared to have minor head trauma and was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

There were no signs of a struggle or forced entry into the room.  The investigation is pending the cause of death.
