WHO:
Mayor Sylvester Turner & Council Member Dave Martin,

WHAT:
A ribbon cutting event to celebrate the newly reconstructed Ellington Field Recycling Drop-off.

WHERE:
Ellington Field Drop-off facility, 246 Loop Road, Houston, Texas 77034

When:
Saturday, October 26, 2019, 9:00 a.m.

Why:
The Ellington Field Community Recycling Drop-off has been reconstructed to improve the customers’ recycling experience. The site has historically been heavily used by the Clear Lake and Southeast Houston neighborhoods who are committed recyclers. The former asphalt surface was insufficient in dealing with the highvolume recycling traffic at the site. A partnership between the Solid Waste Management, Aviation and Public Works Departments provided the expedited funding and reconstruction work to provide the high-quality site being celebrated today.
