SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PREPARES FOR IKE
ESC closes this 2nd Saturday

September 10, 2008 - The Solid Waste Management Department will close the Environmental Service Center (South), 11500 S. Post Oak, on Saturday, September 13, 2008 due to the potential for severe weather over the weekend.

The Environmental Service Center (South) is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., as well as the 2 nd Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“With the potential for winds and flooding resulting from Hurricane Ike, we are taking precautionary measures to remove the household hazardous material from the facility and not open this 2 nd Saturday (September 13 th ) for the safety our employees and the public,” said Harry J. Hayes, Solid Waste Management Department Director.
