COMMUNITY DESCRIPTON AND HISTORY:
Single family homes dominate the area, mostly in deed restricted subdivisions which were primarily developed in the late 1950's and the 1960's. New single family residential developments have begun to occur in the past five years due to the close proximity of the area to the Memorial City Mall and Medical Center, Town and Country Village, the new City Centre Development as well as the Energy Corridor office market which are located to the south and west of the SN. These developments, along with the new 900,000 SF Memorial Hermann office building located at the intersection of Gessner and Interstate 10, should attract additional single family redevelopments. The area also includes apartment complexes primarily located on Gessner, Long Point, and Westview Roads.

The major transportation arteries in the SN are Interstate 10 and Long Point Road (east/west) and Gessner Road and the Sam Houston Tollway (north/south). The majority of retail commercial development is found along Gessner Road, Long Point Road, and Interstate 10. The area is largely deed restricted single-family residential. The Bunker Hill Road area near Interstate 10 has seen intense development in recent years with the addition of large retail centers featuring national tenants such as Costco, Best Buy, HEB Grocery Stores and Academy.
