A Brief History of Spring Branch North
This area of Spring Branch was mostly developed by the MetroNational Corporation beginning in the 1950's and much of it is known as "Spring Shadows". Residents of this area form a very diverse population and the majority of landowners take pride in maintaining a safe, friendly environment. Commercial development is found primarily along Clay, the Beltway, Gessner, and Campbell. Many of the businesses are part of the Spring Shadows Commercial Property Owners Association and many are also part of the greater Spring Branch Management District.
Spring Branch North is currently home to the Menninger Clinic, the Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center, and the Hampton, all focused on health-related care and education. In the near future, the Monarch School, the Lodge (phase two), a Sheraton hotel, and a new townhome subdivision will be completed, all focused on maintaining and improving the quality of life for residents of Spring Branch.
Community venues include Baseball USA, the Clay Road YMCA, Pine Crest golf course, and the Pavilion (which provides banquet and party rooms). Walking trails exist along Buttermilk Creek and pocket parks can be found in Campbell Woods and along Hammerly near Spring Woods Middle School.
