Theater District Parking Map EntrancesOVERVIEW

Theater District Parking is a vital, hidden asset that serves Houston's central business district round the clock. Spanning 18 underground blocks and consisting of 3,369 parking spaces, the City-owned facility is convenient for daytime office workers and evening theater-goers alike.

Benefiting from an ideal location in the heart of downtown and competitive pricing, Theater District Parking is a massive garage system consisting of three, color-coded levels in the shape of a backward J. There are seven entrances to the facility and 17 stairwells and three elevators that provide access to the streets above or links to access tunnels. At street level, the garage is covered by Jones Plaza, Bayou Place, Tranquillity Park and Small Tranquillity Park. The perimeter is generally bound by Texas Avenue to the north, Walker Avenue to the south, Bagby Street to the west and Louisiana Street to the east. The original portion of facility, known as Civic Center Garage, was built in 1966 under what is now Jones Plaza and Bayou Place. Additional levels beneath Tranquillity Park were built in the mid-1970s. The City Hall Annex garage is also part of the system. The 500-plus spaces principally serve City Hall workers during the day and Hobby Center for the Performing Arts at night.

The entire facility is owned and managed by the City of Houston Convention & Entertainment Facilities Department. Republic Parking Systems is under contract with the City to provide operational support.
