Wortham Theater Center officially opened on May 9, 1987, with a spectacular inaugural gala. Among the stars on hand are Hildegard Behrens, Tommy Tune, Nadja Salerno-Sonneberg, Art Buchwald, Diahann Carroll and emcee Tony Randall.
