HPD Auto Dealers Detail licenses a variety of automotive related trades including car dealerships and salespersons, repair shops, salvage yards, storage lots, tow truck drivers, paid parking lots, and auto parts stores. Each of these trades must meet their own unique licensing requirements and comply with business specific federal and state laws and city ordinances. 2. TEXAS COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY

The TCEQ regulates many manufacturers, auto dealers, engine repair shops, auto body shops, dry cleaners, landfills, hazardous waste storage & transportation, tire disposal/recycling, oil recycling, waste processing or disposal facilities, printers, waste service, printing shops, furniture mfg. and repair, metal fabrication and finishing, refineries, auto inspection, gasoline stations, septic tank systems, bakeries and others. TCEQ also enforces storm water discharge from construction sites under the TPDES Construction Permit. Businesses might also be regulated by the COH.

The HFD issues permits for storage, handling, and manufacture of flammable liquids and combustibles; Public Assembly; Maximum Occupancy; Tents; Open burning; Day Care facilities (832-393-9083).

In HARRIS COUNTY the County Fire Marshall (281-436-8000) enforces the State Insurance Code. Harris Co. Pollution Control (713-920-2831) and the TCEQ (713-767-3500) must be notified in the event of a toxic waste spill.
