December 9, 2013 Millions of Federal Funds to be Spent in Houston

Thursday, December 12, 2013 Join the City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department (HCDD) for the public hearings to initiate work on the 2014 Annual Action Plan's budget activities for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) federal formula grants including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Act Grant (HOME), Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) and the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG). The Annual Action Plan is the City of Houston's application for federal formula grants and the purpose of the two public hearings is to gather the public's input on community needs and budget priorities to help prepare the 2014 Annual Action Plan, due in May 2014. HCDD's annual allocation of federal funds provide the following services to Houstonians: affordable housing, single-family home repair, community development, neighborhood facility and improvements, and programs serving the youth, homeless, persons living with AIDS and people with special needs.
