Tour de Houston: Volunteers Needed

The Houston Parks and Recreation Department is seeking volunteers for the Tour de Houston presented by Apache event scheduled for Sunday, March 17, 2019. The Tour de Houston presented by Apache event is a fundraising bike ride that benefits Houston’s Reforestation Program. This outdoor event is open for all cyclist levels, from the leisure rider to cycling competitors, and it is a recommended BP MS150 training ride.

Volunteers will provide Rest Stop Assistance for the Tour de Houston presented by Apache at either:

  • Rest Stop 1 KIPP Academy 500 Tidwell Road, 77022 5:30 am to 2:30 pm ... Or
  • Rest Stop 2 U.S. Steel Tubular Products 9518 East Mount Houston, Rd 77050 6:00 am to 1:30 pm

The annual Tour de Houston Presented by Apache bike ride offers Houstonians and visitors a unique way to view the city with bike routes winding through Houston’s historic neighborhoods, scenic districts, and parks. There are three ride length options available for riders to choose from (20-miles, 40-miles, and 60-miles). The event begins and ends in Hermann Square at City Hall located at 901 Bagby. Riders and volunteers can also enjoy a post-ride party that includes live music, free food, and beverages.

Tour de Houston is produced by the Mayor’s Office of Special Events. Funds raised through the Tour de Houston support Re-Plant Houston, a reforestation program of the Houston Parks and Recreation Department.
