The City Wants Your Input on the Arts and Cultural Plan

After meetings with hundreds of residents, arts and cultural groups, a community advisory committee and thousands of people accessing the project online, a draft vision statement for the plan has been developed. Tell us what you think about it at: ByYouCity.org.

Draft Vision Statement

The Arts and Cultural Plan aims to make the arts and cultural vitality synonymous with Houston's identity. It envisions a thriving cultural sector of artists and creative expression in a community where arts and cultural programs, projects and activities provide culturally diverse, educational and inspirational experiences in a city recognized as a worldwide cultural destination and opportunity center.

With one of the country's largest and most diverse populations, we owe it to future generations to create something better for all Houstonians. The best way to do this? Making sure every citizen is represented in their own city.
