Eastwood Park Community Cleanup

The Department of Neighborhoods (DON) announces the Eastwood Park Community Cleanup project, Saturday, November 2, 8 a.m. to noon in the Second Ward neighborhood. The project is sponsored in partnership with Keep Houston Beautiful (KHB), Second Ward Super Neighborhood Council #63 and Families 4 Better Communities, with corporate support from Tejas Tubular Products, Inc.

The project will consist of de-littering along the Harrisburg Sunset Trail, from 200 Bryan Street to 200 Lockwood Drive, and de-littering and mowing at the "pocket park" located at the 200 to 300 blocks of Bryan Street, both in zip code 77011. KHB will provide access to equipment, tools and supplies for the project.

The cleanup activities will be carried out by volunteers with the Second Ward Super Neighborhood Council, Families 4 Better Communities, Greater East End Management District, Friends of Eastwood Park and Compassionate Houston.  Volunteer registration and hospitality will be at Eastwood Park, 5000 Harrisburg Boulevard 77011, 7:30 a.m. to noon.

This project is part of DON's Clean Neighborhoods Campaign, sponsored in collaboration with BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions (BARC), Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD), Houston Police Department (HPD), Public Works & Engineering (PWE) and Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD).
