Emergency Aircraft Exercise Scheduled for Today around
HCC Northeast Campus

The U.S. Coast Guard, the City of Houston, and regional response agencies will be conducting a training exercise on and around the Houston Community College (HCC) Northeast Campus, located at 555 Community College Drive (Near IH-610 E Loop and I-10) TODAY.

Residents and commuters in the area may see multiple, low-flying aircraft including helicopters and airplanes, as well as increased amounts of emergency vehicles in the area. Aircraft will be performing "hoist" operations on and around the campus, which will require people to be picked up from the ground and raised into helicopters. Residents should not be concerned.

This is all part of an exercise intended to help agencies work better together when disasters require air evacuation.
