TO BE LED BY THE LITTLE COUPLE, DR. JENNIFER ARNOLD AND BILL KLEIN!
"Houston on Parade" set for 9:00 a.m.,
November 27, 2014

Mayor Annise D. Parker and parade grand marshals Dr. Jennifer Arnold, Bill Klein and their children, Will (4) and Zoey (3), stars from TLC's television series The Little Couple, will kick off the holiday season Thursday, November 27th as they lead the 2014 65th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade through downtown Houston. This year's tribute celebrates Houston on Parade with a stellar showcase of the city's finest attributes - from families, fashion, food, sports and the Texas Medical Center to art and entertainment adding vibrant lift to this 65-year tradition.

Following tradition, NEW FLOATS and HIGH-FLYING BALLOONS will rule the new downtown parade route along with Tom Turkey, Santa Claus, marching bands, performers and more!

"We have terrific sponsors who have made it possible for this family holiday tradition to continue," said Mayor Annise D. Parker. "Each year Houstonians have so much for which to be thankful, from advances in medical research and practices in the Texas Medical Center and world-class exhibits and entertainment to international cultures that give this city its character and flavor. This year we will shine the spotlight on the cornerstone of Houston's greatness - our families."

Grand marshals Bill Klein and Dr. Jennifer Arnold were lured to Houston in 2009 by the Texas Medical Center where Jen is currently an assistant professor of pediatrics, Division of Neonatology at Baylor College of Medicine and Medical Director of Pediatric Simulation Center at Texas Children's Hospital. Bill, a serial entrepreneur, has consulted and generated millions in incremental revenue for companies like GE Healthcare, Siemens and Tyco Healthcare. He is now CEO of Rocky & Maggie's Petshop, a pet supply business with both an e-commerce platform and a location in the Rice Village.  Together, they share their personal stories of triumph over adversity to motivate others facing similar challenges.

"H-E-B is proud to join the City of Houston and Mayor Parker in sharing Thanksgiving with our fellow Houstonians and continuing this holiday tradition that celebrates families and Houston's very best," said Cyndy Garza-Roberts, Public Affairs Director, "H-E-B is always thankful for the privilege to celebrate - whether it's leading a fantastic parade through downtown, sharing with those without or filling holiday tables with the freshest and most flavorful foods available."

250,000 spectators are expected to join the fun, as they have since Houston's first Thanksgiving Day Parade began in 1949 when Santa arrived at Union Station and rode his sleigh to the downtown Foley's. Today, the annual Holiday Parade is produced by the Mayor's Office of Special Events and will begin on Smith at Lamar, north to Walker, east to Milam, south to Pease, west to Louisiana, north to Clay, west to Smith, and north to end at Smith and Dallas.

Sponsors include the City of Houston, H-E-B, KHOU11, Air Liquide, Hyatt Regency, A Light to Remember, Wells Fargo, GOYA FOODS, First Choice Emergency Room, Dance Staff, McDonalds, Houston Chronicle, Sunny 99.1, Sports Talk 790AM, 93.7 The Beat, Majic 102 FM, 97.9 The Box and KSBJ.
