May 6, 2010 Houston Public Library invites you to celebrate its first annual
This year's event will begin Saturday, May 8, 2010 with an appearance by T.A. Barron, author of The Lost Years of Merlin epic, The Great Tree of Avalon trilogy, and The Adventures of Kate amongst other award-winning novels. The May 8 event will include a full day of fantasy themed performances, hands on art activities and other special events at the Houston Public Library's Central Library (500 McKinney). The celebration will culminate May 15 with another day of special activities including an author appearance by this year's Caldecott Award Winner, Jerry Pinkney. Mr. Pinkney's book The Lion and the Mouse won the award for excellence in artwork in children's literature. This special visit will be surrounded by a day of fable inspired special activities and performances at the Houston Public Library's Central Library.
