June 1, 2011 You're Invited to the Houston HOPE 2011 Parade of Homes National Homeownership Month is observed each June to highlight the vital role homeownership plays in improving lives, creating economic opportunities and strengthening America's neighborhoods. In celebration of National Homeownership Month, the City of Houston's Housing and Community Development Department (HCDD) and Houston HOPE - a City initiative promoting neighborhood reinvestment through revitalization, homeownership and infrastructure investments - will be hosting a Parade of Homes and a number of homeownership workshops. The Houston Hope Showcase will feature over 35 affordable homes ready for quick move-in. Home prices range from $90,000 - $160,000, and qualified buyers may receive up to $30,000 in down payment assistance. The Parade of Homes will take place on: Saturday, June 4 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday, June 5 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, June 11 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday, June 12 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. These Houston HOPE homes are located in some of Houston's most historic neighborhoods within close proximity to major thoroughfares, employers and activity centers.
