November 3, 2008 Notice of Public Hearing: 2009 Consolidated Action Plan The City of Houston Housing and Community Development Department (HCDD) has initiated work on the 2009 Consolidated Action Plan. HCDD has scheduled the first of two public hearings on the Plan for Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the former Council Chambers at City Hall Annex (900 Bagby, Public Level). (The second hearing will be in the spring.) The purpose of these hearings is to solicit the public's involvement in the planning process. At the public hearing, HCDD will also discuss its proposal to "substantially" amend the current 2008 Consolidated Action Plan to include the new Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). NSP was created by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to reduce the adverse impact of abandoned and foreclosed properties in areas of greatest need. To view the summary of the proposed Amendment to the 2008 Consolidated Action Plan, go to www.houstonhousing.org select "Consolidated Action Plan" from the left side of the screen and click "Neighborhood Stabilization Program".
