October 7, 2013 ReBuild Houston Project Underway in Districts B and H The Gellhorn Concrete Panel Replacement Project will improve the streets in the area by repairing the existing deteriorating roadway. This $0.29M project, which runs along Gellhorn Drive from Market Street to IH-10 Frontage Road, began in early October 2013 and is anticipated to be complete by early December 2013. Concrete panel replacement is used to repair severely cracked and broken sections of concrete streets. Additional features of this project include the repair and improvement of curbs and accessible ramps. During this process, motorists will notice lane closures around the repair areas and are urged to drive cautiously through these active work zones. The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter-initiated "pay-as-you-go" plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. ReBuild Houston will help improve the quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. The Gellhorn Concrete Panel Replacement Project is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you. For questions call 832.395.2090 or email pwecip@houstontx.gov.
