June 07, 2013 ReBuild Houston Under Way in Your Area The Wayside Concrete Panel Replacement Project will improve streets in the area by repairing portions of the deteriorating roadway. The project began in March 2013 and several concrete panel replacements are being performed on Wayside between 610 and Ley Road. The projected completion date is May 31, 2013. Concrete panel repairs involve completely removing a section of old concrete and then replacing it with new concrete. This is one of the more costly repair methods and is used only where concrete material is absolutely necessary. Smaller concrete repairs can take up to a week to complete. Asphalt can also be used to make a wide variety of repairs on concrete streets with excellent results. The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve the quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. The Wayside Concrete Panel Replacement Project is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you.
