November 5, 2013 ReBuild Houston Project Completed in District H The Local Drainage Project at Sabine Street provided improvements to address localized storm water drainage issues in the area. This approximately $15,000 project, which runs along Buffalo Bayou at the Sabine Street Bridge, 77007 was completed in July 2013. A Local Drainage Project is a small scale project that strives to optimize the existing drainage system with repairs and enhancements. This will include the repair, removal and/or replacement of storm sewers, as well as roadway pavement, curbs, sidewalks and access ramps. The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements.
