ReBuild Houston Project Underway in District B
Dockal Street Bridge Reconstruction Project
The Dockal Street Bridge Reconstruction Project will improve the overall road surface and safety of the bridge. This approximately $216,000 project, which is located at the 8200 block of Dockal, 77028, will begin in mid-July 2015 and is anticipated to be complete in September 2015.
The Dockal Street Bridge Reconstruction Project consists of the demolition of the existing bridge structure and then the construction of a new bridge.
The bridge will be closed to traffic for approximately 8 to 10 weeks while it is being reconstructed. For access to Dockal, East Houston or Pond Street, please use North Wayside, Ley Road, Furray Road or East Houston Road.
The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. The Dockal Street Bridge Reconstruction Project is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you.
