ReBuild Houston Project Completed in District I
Local Drainage Project at Polk Street
The Local Drainage Project at Polk Street provided improvements to address localized storm water drainage issues in the area. This approximately $52,000 project, located at the 6700 block of Polk Street, 77011, was completed in March 2015.
A Local Drainage Project is a small scale project that strives to optimize the existing drainage system with repairs and enhancements. This may include the repair, removal and/or replacement of storm sewers, manholes, inlets and incidental street or sidewalk repair.
The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. The Local Drainage Project at Polk Street is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you.
