ReBuild Houston Project Underway in District B and H
Wallisville Road Reconstruction
The Wallisville Road Reconstruction Project will improve streets that have deteriorated beyond normal maintenance and repair. This $14.2 million improvement project, which runs along Wallisville Road from Lockwood to North Wayside, 77013, began in November 2014 and is anticipated to be complete in May 2016.
The Wallisville Road Reconstruction Project strives to improve traffic circulation, mobility and drainage in the area by transitioning a two-lane road to a three-lane undivided concrete road including a continuous center turn lane. Additional enhancements include an underground storm sewer system to mitigate street flooding, new inlets, sidewalks, curbs, street lights, railroad crossings and necessary utilities.
The ReBuild Houston Initiative is the City of Houston's voter approved pay-as-you-go plan to rebuild drainage and street infrastructure. Its goal is to improve the quality of life and mobility for residents through the reconstruction and proper maintenance of drainage and street improvements. The Wallisville Road Reconstruction Project is an active example of ReBuild Houston at work to better serve you.
